Oh, We of dark Skin.

Why does social acceptance depend on the pigmentation of your skin?

Do you know the pain it causes from within?

To feel that being light is what’s favoured, resulting in confidence; quickly devoured,

People will scream and chant MELANIN, yet drift away from their natural skin.

Is this how things have come to be?

Is this all that your eyes can see?

Why does colour stipulate how beautiful we are, has your mentality been scared?

We of darker skin have been ridiculed with no explanation; across many nations,

Do not claim this fixation.

We are all but one, under the universe’s sun.

So, set pace and face we are all but one race
